Thankyou for loving me

For being my eyes

When I couldn't see

for parting my lips

when I couldn't breath...

Thank You

By: Whisper O' The Winds

Whisper laid in bed with the covers pulled over her head, trying hard not to think of the things she'd done in the last year and a half, 'You betrayed them' whispered the unwanted voice in her mind, 'tried to kill them, then you turned on your own brother, your last living relative, and killed him...'

"Come on Whisper," Said a familiar voice, "get up, I need to talk to you." A hand grabbed hold of the blankets and pulled them off her, "Whisper!" A face with delicate almost pixy-like features loomed into view, "I need you to get up. I need to talk to you but we need to go to someplace else."

Whisper stared blankly in to the face, 'Lexy, I'm sorry,' she thought, 'of all of you I hurt you the most.'

Lexy grabbed hold of Whisper by the shoulders and jerked her up into a sitting position, "Am I going to have to get you dressed too?" Lexy frowned and put her hands on her hips. Whisper stood and picked up the clothes Lexy had set out for her. "Good," Said Lexy, running her hands through her shoulder length blonde hair " I'm gonna go get my hair done and write a note so the others won't be worried about us when they get up tomorrow morning."

"Why are we leaving at one in the morning?" Asked Whisper, as she started the motorcycle.

"'Cause, I have to tell you something real important that can't wait and can't be said here." Replied Lexy, "You remember my directions right?" Whisper nodded, and they took off.

Whisper opened the door to the hotel room and stepped in, "What is it that you need to tell me?" she asked sitting on the bed.

Lexy sat down next to her, "Whisper, I – " She said looking down at the floor, "I– I love you. And I don't mean in the way a friends love each other I mean real love, like the kind between husband and wife..."

Whisper stared at the smaller girl in shock, then shook her head, "No." Lexy looked up at her, "Lexy, you're confusing our friendship with love –"

"I am not!" cried Lexy, "I really do love you! I didn't realize it either, until you went away. When you lost control and turned against us I didn't think I'd ever get the chance to tell you."

"But I almost killed you..." began Whisper.

"It wasn't your fault," interrupted Lexy, "you were confused; your brother took control of your mind."

"Why do you - why would you love me?" mumbled Whisper.

"I don't need a reason to love you, Whisper, I just do." replied Lexy, her voice softening "And I know you love me too." She leans up and kisses the taller silver haired girl lightly on the lips. "I can't even count how many nights I've dreamed of us holding each other and kissing, or making love to each other..." Lexy gently pushed Whisper down on the bed, "Let's talk this over later," she said wrapping her arms around Whisper's waist, and laying her head on the silver haired girl's chest.

Whisper looked up at the ceiling, 'What is love?' She thought running her fingers through Lexy's hair, 'My foster father never loved me, that I'm for sure. My brother? No, he never did either. What about the others? Ariana, Trinity, and Erin; they all welcomed me with opened arms, but when the darkness finally swallowed me, they turned and I was no longer their friend, I was their enemy. They still don't trust me, even though I know longer follow evil. Only Lexy saw through the darkness, and refused to believe that I was truly evil, but she never sees evil in anybody... only good...'

A gentle hand reached up and caressed her cheek, "Don't cry Whisper." whispered a soft voice.

Whisper sat up and laid her head on Lexy's shoulder, "I don't deserve your love," she cried, "not after what I did to you."

"Don't say things like that." retorted Lexy, "Of course you do."

Whisper woke with a start and looked at the alarm clock, "Almost noon." she whispered. She got up and walked to the door, then turned, "Forgive me Lexy, but I can't take the chance of hurting you." She pulled out the razor blade she'd gotten right before they left earlier that morning, then walked out of the room and around the corner of the hotel and sat, "I won't be able to hurt anyone now." She pressed the blade hard against her skin and cut deep across both wrist.

Lexy sat up and looked around the small room, "Whisper?" she mumbled sleepily, "Where are you?" she got up and brushed her hair, 'Maybe she went for a walk.' she thought noticing the door was slightly ajar. Finished with her hair she walked out side, "Whisper?" She called, but received no reply, "Whisper quit hiding, we need to talk." still no reply, "Ok then," said Lexy trying to suppress her rising fear, "maybe she's on the other side of the building and can't hear me." She walked around to the side of the building and saw her friend laying in a pool of blood, "WHISPER!"

"We've done all we can for her," said the doctor, "but she's lost too much blood. It'll be a miracle if she's still alive past sun set." he posses for a moment to let the four girls before him process this information, "Normally we only allow family members to see the dying patient, but since she has no known living relatives, you may each see her, one at a time."

Ariana went first. She walked in and saw Whisper laying in bed hooked up to various machines and monitors, "I'm sorry, I should of been there like a true friend," She said as she sat and picked up the other girls hand, "You've lived a tough life, and never really been happy, I should have been there for you..." tears streaked down the blue haired girl's cheeks, as she studied the gloved hand she held, "Nearly all your life you wore this glove to hide the scars seared into your hand by your foster father, but the scars were deeper than this weren't they? I hope that when we next meet in the realm of the dead that you'll have found true happiness." She rose and left.

Next came Trinity, she sat down beside Whisper and stared at her for a long moment, "I wish there was some way to erase the past." she said, " We never hated you. We've been more afraid of ourselves than you." She brushes a strand of silver hair out of the unusually pale girl's face, made even paler by the lack of blood, "You've taught us that we are neither completely good or evil, I'm sorry I've treated you so badly."

Erin entered next, "I'm sorry," she said, " I don't know what to say, I never pictured this happening. I should have been here for you when you needed me the most. I never knew how much I hurt you until now. May you rest in peace my friend."

Last was Lexy, "Is that how you're gonna let it end!" she screamed, "Just gonna lay there and die!? Well I'm not! I'm not gonna let you just give up! I love you." She threw herself across the other girls and focused all her healing powers, that she had received so many years ago, into Whisper. Slowly color returned to her cheeks and each breath she drew was deeper and more steady than the last. Lexy rose and looked at the other girl's face, "Come on wake up!"

Slowly Whisper stired and returned to consciousness, she opened her eyes and pained golden eyes looked up at defiant sky blue ones, "Thank you..." she said in a hardly audible voice, and leaned up and kissed Lexy.
