A Winters Love
Story by: Whisper
Song (Song for a Winter's Night) by: Sarah Mclachlan
The lamp is burnin' low upon my table top
The snow is softly fallin'
The air is still within the silence of my room
I hear your voice softly callin'
If I could only have you near
To breathe a sigh or two
I would be happy just to hold the hands I love
Upon this winter night with you
Collin sighed and looked out the big picture window of his
appartment, in New York. The snow fell softly in the night upon the the busy streets of
the big city, giving it a strange, almost ethereal beauty. "Ian." he whispered
softly, touching the window pane. Turning he walked back to the small table and sat,
staring at the candle that was the room's only illumination.
The smoke is rising in the shadows overhead
My glass is almost empty
I read again between the lines upon the page
The words of love you sent me
If I could know within my heart
That you were lonely too
I would be happy just to hold the hands I love
Upon this winter night with you
He picked up the note his lover had left him on the table, before
leaving earlier that evening, it was a love poem. He read it and chukled,
"Always the hoplessly romantic poet..." he murmmered and laid the poem on the
table agian. He sighed again and leanded back in his chair.
The fire is dying now, my lamp is growing dim
The shades of night are liftin'
The mornin' light steals across my windowpane
Where webs of snow are driftin'
A soft whisper, and a gentle kiss brought him abruptly to wakefulness. He looked up into the eyes of his lover, Ian, who grabed him by the hands and walked him to the window where they watched the sun rise together
If I could only have you near
To breathe a sigh or two
I would be happy just to hold the hands I love
On this winters night with you
And to be once again with with you
To be once again with with you...
